PVM Westland Wellness Happens Logocardio drumming 4Studies suggest the best way for seniors to age successfully is through daily physical and social activities. The Village of Westland makes it easy for seniors to nourish their mind, body and soul. Residents have the opportunity to participate in chair yoga, strength training, and now cardio drumming.

Wellness Programs

Strength Training – seated exercise focusing on full body strengthening with resistance of hand held weights or resistance bands

Better Balance – seated, standing and walking (with support) exercise focusing on the core and lower body strengthening for improved balance and walking

Chair Exercise – variety of fun classes seated in a chair, examples include arthritis fitness, brain fitness, aerobic exercise, etc.

Chair Yoga – seated exercise with gentle movements focusing on stretch and relaxation

Cardio Drumming – seated exercise “drumming” on stability balls to fun music combining an aerobic workout with the movement of drumming
